We can confirm an investigation is underway following a serious collision in Liverpool city centre this afternoon (Sunday 20 June).
Just before 2.10pm, officers were called to Renshaw Street, between Brownlow Hill and Newington Street, to reports of a collision involving an HGV and a male pedestrian.
Emergency services are in attendance and the driver of the HGV, a 31-year-old man, stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries.
Renshaw Street remains closed between Great Charlotte Street and Hanover Street while investigations continue at the scene.
