Suspicious fire - Former Ravenhead club, St Helens

Mersey Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire at the former Ravenhead Club on Alexandra Drive, St Helens, at 12.55am today, Wednesday 30^th June.

 A joint investigation is currently underway. The cause of the fire, which caused significant damage to the building, is currently being treated as suspected malicious ignition.

Forensic enquiries are being carried out at the scene together with CCTV and witness enquiries.

Detective Inspector Leanne Hobin said: “Enquiries are in the very early stages but at this stage it is being treated as suspected malicious ignition.
