Matrix disruption officers carried out a search of open land in Speke a part of our ongoing disruption activity.
Following on from community intelligence officers attended at Dam Wood yesterday, Sunday 1st August.
During a search of the woodland a male made off from officers and discarded a Giant mountain bike. The bike has been seized by officers and enquiries are ongoing to establish if it has been reported as stolen.
A mobile phone was also recovered and as part of the search a lock knife and knuckle duster were found secreted at the base of a tree.
Liverpool community Superintendent Diane Pownall said: “We will always act on intelligence on where criminals are storing weapons and drugs. I would continue to encourage our local communities to come forward if they have information. Removing dangerous weapons and disrupting potential criminal activity is important to ensure that all law abiding people feel safe in their own communities.”
Anyone with information about where drugs, weapons or stolen good are being stored can DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111.
