Emergency services are in attendance on Westminster Road, Kirkdale, this morning (Tuesday 30 March).
At around 8.45am we received a report that a man had been threatened with a crossbow at an address on Westminster Road.
Officers attended and arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of Affray.
He has been taken into custody and will be questioned by police.
The weapon has now been recovered and no injuries were reported.
Road closures in place on Westminster Road have now been lifted.
