Detectives are appealing for information following assaults and an alleged theft at a Rainhill pub in the early hours of Sunday morning, 30 May.
At around 2.20am, reports were received of men fighting inside the Manor Farm pub on Mill Lane. Four men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, some of which were serious.
Forensic, witness and CCTV enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said: "This was a serious incident which resulted in a number of injuries being sustained.
"We initially believe that it followed an allegation of theft from within the premises, and our enquiries with those at the location continue, including forensic enquiries and any CCTV opportunities.
“If you witnessed the incident or have any information to assist, please contact us now and we will take action.”
