We are appealing for information following a reported burglary at a cafe in Southport.
On Monday 3 May, we received a report that a charity tin had been stolen from Clevelands Café on Lord Street.
Between 4.45pm on Sunday 2 May and around 7am on Monday 3 May, it was reported that unknown offenders had gained entry to the café, while it was closed.
They are believed to have searched the premises and taken charity tins.
Forensic enquiries have been carried out and officers are appealing for information to help find those responsible.
Local Policing Inspector Graham Fisher said “To break into a local business and steal from a charity tin is completely reprehensible. We’re determined to find the person or persons responsible and bring them to justice.
“If you were in the Lord Street area on the evening of Bank Holiday Sunday or the morning of Bank holiday Monday and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please do let us know. Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation."
If anyone has any information they are asked to contact our social media desk @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook with reference 21000282132.
