Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Kirkby on Sunday (9th May) have arrested a fourth man.
At around 10.30pm, emergency services were called to an address in Clorain Road following reports that males had entered the address, before they left a short time later and the occupant was found unresponsive.
The victim, a 36-year-old man, has been formally identified as Thomas Edmunds.
Mr Edmunds was taken to hospital where he sadly died on Monday morning, 10th May.
A Home Office Post Mortem has confirmed that he died of asphyxiation. It is believed to be a targeted attack, as the victim and offenders are understood to be known to each other.
Today, Wednesday 12th May, a 48-year-old man from the Liverpool area has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Two men aged 32 and 34, from the Liverpool area, who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder, remain in custody.
A 38-year-old man from Old Swan, also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released under investigation.
