We have arrested a man of suspicion of burglary offences in Seaforth today (Wednesday 26 May).
At around midnight, police received a report of a man trying door handles to houses on Seaforth Vale.
Officers attended and reviewed CCTV.
A search of the area was conducted and police arrested a 56-year-old man from Seaforth on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary.
He has been taken into custody where he will be questioned by officers.
Inspector Raymond Mavrakakis said: “The arrest today is significant and shows that where burglaries take place in our community we will take action to find the offenders and bring them to justice.
“I would like to reassure the community that we take burglaries extremely seriously, and have focussed our efforts in recent years on targeting offenders and putting them before the courts, with some extremely positive results.”
