Detectives are appealing for information following a stabbing in Vauxhall this evening, Saturday 6 November.
Just after 6.30pm, emergency services were called to the Blackstone Street Warehouse to reports a 17-year-old male had been stabbed in the arm and leg. He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The scene within the venue has been secured and officers remain in the area to speak to potential witnesses, and carry out forensic and CCTV enquiries.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi-Bidokhti said: “This is the very early stages of our investigation into what must have been a shocking incident not only for the victim, but for anyone who witnesses it.
“We know there was a large number of people in attendance at the venue, and officers are working to speak to anyone who saw any part of this incident or those responsible making off to understand what exactly happened and bring those responsible to justice.
“If you have not already been spoken to by police and saw or heard anything or may have captured those responsible on camera phones or other devices, let us know and we will take action.
"Your information could be vital in tracking down those responsible and removing them from the streets.”
Det Insp Saidi-Bidokhti added: “We simply will not stand by and allow people to carry knives and threaten the safety of themselves and others in the city centre or anywhere in Merseyside.
“Our officers will continue to work tirelessly with licenced premises, businesses and our partners, and patrol busy areas at key times to ensure people can go out and enjoy themselves safely without any fear of violence.”
