Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following a stabbing in Seaforth in late October.
At around 6.30pm on Sunday 31 October, emergency services were called to Sandy Lane to reports of a 17-year-old male being found with multiple stab wounds. The location is unconfirmed but may have been Rimrose Valley Country Park or nearby.
Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital for serious injuries. He has since been released from hospital.
CCTV, forensic and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out but we are still looking for information.
Detective Constable Tara Byrne investigating the incident said: “We believe this was a targeted attack but are still keen to establish what happened and who was involved.
“This was a brutal assault which left a young man seriously injured and we are determined to put those responsible before the courts.
“We have seen the catastrophic consequences of knife crime, which has no place in our communities. If you saw this incident, captured anything or have heard information since, we want to hear from you now. Your CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage could be key.
“We rely on members of the public coming forward with information about such incidents to keep our streets safer.
“If you were in the Seaforth area yesterday evening and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please come forward. Similarly, if you were driving in the area and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything let us know.
“Tell us what you know about this incident and we’ll take positive action to remove those who use weapons to cause fear and harm in our communities from our streets.”
