Two men arrested after Class A drugs were seized in Liverpool

We have arrested two men after a large amount of class A drugs were seized in Liverpool.
At around 3am in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 25 November) police who were on patrol on Newsham Park stopped a man with a scooter who was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Officers then followed the man and witnessed him enter a property on Conwy Drive.
As officers detained the man, another man was seen attempting to escape from the property and was also detained. Following a search, officers found a large quantity of suspected Class A Drugs inside the property and several wraps of a substance believed to be drugs in the garden.
A 31-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, burglary, possession with intention to supply a Class A drug, and traffic offences and a 37-year-old man, also from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intention to supply a Class A drug.
One man was taken to hospital after the incident where he remains. The other man was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and remains in custody.
Inspector Sarah Rotherham said: “Both of these arrests prove how vigilant and dedicated our officers are when removing any drugs that could seriously affect residents and spread misery in our communities. “A lengthy, thorough search at the property also revealed large amount of dangerous drugs that were hidden in the house and removed from our streets by officers.
