We have arrested two men following a stabbing in Bromborough, Wirral this afternoon, Sunday 28 November.
At 1.55pm, emergency services were called to Croft Retail Park, Welton Road to reports of a man in his 30s being stabbed inside Everlast Fitness Centre. The victim has been taken to hospital for assessment.
Following enquiries, armed police stopped a vehicle and have detained two men on suspicion of Section 18 wounding.
Both men will be taken to police stations for questioning.
Detectives Inspector Matt Kerr said: “Two men are under arrest and will be questioned as we carry out initial enquiries into this incident. Anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information is urged to come forward and officers will remain in the area to continue their work.
“This will cause understandable shock given the public location and seriousness of the assault, but I’d like to assure people that we believe it was an isolated and targeted attack, and there is no wider threat to the community.
“If you know anything, tell us and we continue to take action.”
