Police are currently in attendance in Walton today, Friday 29 October.
At around 10.15am we received a report that a cash box was stolen from a security guard at Lloyd’s Bank on Broadway.
It was reported that the security guard was assaulted by a male suspect who then took the cash box.
The suspect made off from the scene in a white Transit van which was later found abandoned on Lowerson Road.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate the suspect.
He is described as white male, dressed in black, with a black face covering.
Officers remain on Broadway while CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are carried out.
Chief Inspector Steve Hardy said: “Targeting someone going about their business in the community is disgraceful and we are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“We are in the extremely early stages of this investigation and we would ask anyone who was in the Walton area this morning who saw anything ort anyone suspicious to come forward.
“Similarly, if you were driving in the area earlier this morning and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything let us know. Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation.”
