We have arrested a man following a collision in Everton this morning (Sunday 10 October).
At around 1.05am patrols on Breck Road saw a grey Honda travelling a high speed and initiated a pursuit of the vehicle.
During the pursuit, the Honda collided with a female pedestrian at the junction of Sleepers Hill and Breckfield Road North. The vehicle then made off from the scene.
The police officer ceased the pursuit and provided first aid to the female until an ambulance arrived. She was then taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Following extensive police enquiries, the driver of the Honda, a 38-year-old man from Bromborough, was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving. He has been taken into custody and will be questioned by police.
Road closures in place in the Sleepers’ Hill area following the incident have now been lifted.
