Victim of fatal RTC in Aigburth formally identified as Gerard Rogers

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision in Aigburth on Saturday 25 September can confirm that the victim has been formally identified as 69-year-old Gerard Rogers from the L19 area of Liverpool.
Officers were called at 9.45pm by a driver of a Seat Ibiza who had collided with the victim on Ullet Road, near to the junction with Aigburth Road.
Paramedics attended and carried out CPR but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A Home Office Post Mortem has since been carried out and established the cause of death as injuries consistent with being struck by a car.
The driver of the Seat stopped at the scene is assisting police with enquiries.
Mr Rogers’ next of kin are being supported by specially trained officers.
Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and officers continue to appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.
Roads Policing Sergeant Amy Murray said: “We are treating this tragic incident as a fatal road traffic collision. Our enquiries continue and we would appeal for anyone who witnessed anything or who has any information to contact us.
“Similarly, if you were driving in the Ullet Road area on the evening of Saturday 25 September and have dashcam footage then please review it and if you see anything, let us know. However insignificant it may seem, your information could prove vital to our enquiries.
“Whether you choose to get information to us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, any information you provide will be acted upon.”
