We are appealing for information following an assault in Aigburth yesterday morning (Sunday 12 September).
At around 2am we received a report that a man was injured on Lark Lane following a fight with a group of males.
Patrols attended and a man matching the description of the injured male was located walking past officers, having previously left the scene.
The man did not wish to engage with officers and is believed to have attended hospital as a precaution.
CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information to come forward.
Inspector Dave Uren said: “We simply will not tolerate such acts of violence in our communities and have stepped up high visibility patrols in the Lark Lane area.
“The incident in the early hours of this morning would have been shocking for anyone to witness and I would urge anyone who saw anything to come forward so we can find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“With the public’s help we can make our streets safer and whether you get in touch with us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers your information will be acted upon.”
