CCTV appeal after private hire taxi driver racially abused
Main article content
We have issued CCTV images of a woman we would like to speak to after a private hire taxi driver was racially abused.
The driver had stopped to drop off a passenger on Arbour Lane in Kirkby at around 7.30am on Wednesday 16th June. The passenger then asked to be dropped off at another destination before an argument broke out over the additional cost.
The passenger then became abusive and made a racist comment towards the male taxi driver before getting out of the car and walking away.
An investigation was launched and enquiries have been carried out.
We have now issued images of a woman who we believe could assist with our investigation.
We would ask anyone who recognises the woman, or the woman herself, to DM @MerPolCC or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 21000420300.
