Officers are appealing for more information after a woman was assaulted when a fight broke out between two men in a nightclub in Liverpool.
At around 4am on Saturday 18 September police were called to a report of a fight outside GBar nightclub on Eberle Street in Liverpool.
Officers broke up the fight between the men and detained them.
A woman was also hit with a bottle during the fight which started inside the GBar nightclub and suffered a severe cut to her face.
She received treatment for her injuries and is now recovering at home.
Two men aged 39 and 43 from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of assault.
Both of the men have now been released under investigation.
The investigation is ongoing and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out and thoroughly examined by officers.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “This was a needless and violent altercation between two men that has left a woman with a serious facial injury and could have endangered the lives of workers and others in the club.
“We will not tolerate such violence in our community that could affect the safety of people simply enjoying a night out or trying to get home and we are working to find more evidence about this incident.
“If you were at the night club or on Eberle Street in the early hours of Saturday morning and witnessed the incident, then please let us know.
“Similarly if you captured any mobile phone footage when you were at or near the club of the incident please contact us. Any information you hold could be vital to our ongoing enquiries.”
