A man in his 20s, two women in their 20s and a man in his 50s were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Sadly one of the women, 22 year-old Claudia Phoebe Forden, who was a passenger in the Mercedes and from the Crosby area, sadly passed away at hospital. The other three people injured are recovering following treatment at hospital.
Roads Policing Constable Jack Hearnden said: “Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the circumstances. Therefore, we’d ask that anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on dashcam or other devices and has yet to come forward does so as soon as possible.
