We have today, Thursday 30th September, arrested a 25 year-old man on suspicion of the murder of Patrick Boyle in Huyton.
Officers were contacted at just after 5.55pm on Thursday 1st July following reports the 26 year-old had been shot twice in the chest in the street in Newway, Huyton.
He was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
The 25 year-old man, who is from the Huyton area, was arrested this morning.
He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Hurst said: “We have a dedicated team of experienced detectives working tirelessly to identify all persons who may have had involvement in the murder, the planning of the attack and any persons who may have offered assistance or support to those involved.”
