Man arrested after police uncover Class B drugs and several thousand pounds

We arrested a man after uncovering class B drugs and seizing several thousand pounds in cash in Garston yesterday (Sunday 19 September).
At around 9.45pm yesterday officers from Merseyside Police stopped a vehicle in Garston and spoke to the driver.
The man failed a roadside drugs test and after searching his car officers found what was believed to be over £10,000.00.
A 56-year-old man from Bath was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, money laundering and possession of a controlled drug.
He was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Jennifer Beck said: “This was a significant arrest by our officers which has thwarted suspected money laundering and the use of drugs in our community.
“Our officers will continue to proactively police our roads to disrupt criminals who use our roads to transport illegal drugs and criminal assets around Merseyside.
“Please contact us if you think someone could be using or supplying drugs near where you live so we can continue to take similar action and stop the spread of illegal drugs that could endanger lives in your area.”
