Police are in attendance in Anfield this evening, Saturday 4 September.
At around 6.40pm it was reported that a grey Ford Focus mounted the kerb and collided with a pedestrian on Burleigh Road North.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital for his injuries which are not believed to be serious.
Three males were reported to have made off from the vehicle on foot in the direction of Robson Street.
Extensive CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing to locate them.
We can confirm that police vehicles were travelling on Burleigh Road North and witnessed the collision.
Road closures are currently in place on Burleigh Road North between Robson Street and Burleigh Road South while emergency services deal with the incident.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
