We are appealing for information following a collision involving a teenage boy and a moped in Leasowe.
At around 7pm on Wednesday 16 November, a 14-year-old boy was crossing a road on Gardenside when he was hit by a moped which failed to stop at the scene.
The victim suffered a fractured wrist and was taken to hospital for treatment.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV, doorbell and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.
Inspector of matrix Operations, Emma Haffenden said: “This was a particular nasty collision where the moped was riding at high speed and knocked over the boy, which left him not only in distress but with a broken wrist. His phone was also broken from the incident.
“I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity and saw a moped on the night riding recklessly to please contact us. I also ask residents to please check your CCTV and doorbell footage to see if it captures a moped being driven at high speed.”
Anyone with information on this incident including CCTV and dashcam footage is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 22000843959.
You can also pass information via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
