We are continuing to appeal for information and witnesses to come forward after a man was shot in Wirral last night, Saturday 3rd December.
At around 8.10pm we were contacted by members of the public to reports a 21-year-old man had been shot in the leg in Orrets Meadow Road.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries have been carried out in the local area.
It is believed the attack was targeted and a number of lines of enquiry are being pursued.
Detective Inspector John Holden said: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of Orrets Meadow Road or Hoole Road at around 8pm last night who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“Guns have no place on the streets of Merseyside and we need the community to come forward and tell us what they know so that we can take action against the people responsible.
“Please check your dashcam or Ring doorbell if you live locally to see if you captured anyone acting suspiciously either before or after the incident.”
Anyone who has information or knows who is carrying or storing weapons in their neighbourhood is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000891223.
