Two men were arrested following a report of a burglary in St Helens yesterday evening, Wednesday 21 December.
At around 9.30pm it was reported that two men had broken into a house on Brampton Court in Parr and left the property when they were disturbed. No one was injured during the incident.
A short time later officers stopped a black Vauxhall Astra on Fry Street, and two men were detained.
The men, aged 38 years and 41 years from St Helens, were arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.
They are still in custody and being questioned by police.
We have a dedicated burglary team called Operation Castle, who focus on hotspot areas and particular types of burglary. We’ve seen more than 600 years in prison handed out to suspects since we launched in 2018. Every sentence handed down makes the communities of Merseyside and beyond safer from the harm, distress and inconvenience that burglary brings.
