Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could assist with their enquiries following an assault in a Liverpool city centre bar.
It was reported that at around 11.15pm on Saturday 18th December the 34-year-old man was punched in the face by another man in the Rubber Soul bar on Mathew Street.
He fell to the ground and suffered a head injury which required hospital treatment.
The second man then left the bar.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured, and such violence like this will never be tolerated on the streets of Merseyside.
“This incident took place at a time where it would have been busy time, so if you were in the vicinity at around 11.15pm on Saturday 18 December and saw anything, then please contact us.
"I am also appealing for people to come forward if you recognise the male featured in these images. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
