At around 2.50pm today (Sunday 6 February) emergency services were called to a report of a collision involving a van and a cyclist on the junction of Queens Drive and Utting Avenue, Walton.
The man on the bicycle has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and is in a stable condition.
The driver stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Queens Drive and Utting Avenue southbound carriageway, and Richard Kelly Drive are closed while emergency services attend the incident.
We ask that drivers avoid the area and find an alternative route. We thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident.
