All three charged were remanded to appear at Wirral magistrates court this morning, Tuesday 22nd February.

A third 16 year-old male arrested has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Four males have been arrested today (Monday 21 February) following reports of burglaries in Liverpool earlier this month.

Officers executed four warrants following 11 reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries of properties in the Mossley Hill and Aigburth area in the early hours of 8 February.

One 22-year-old man and three 16-year-old males from Toxteth have been arrested on suspicion to commit burglary and theft.

All four males are still in custody and being questioned by police.

Detective Inspector Tony O’Brien who heads the Burglary Team (Operation Castle), said: “While we have made these four arrests our enquiries continue to bring those responsible to justice.

"To target someone in their home in this way is utterly despicable and can have a massive impact on victims.

“We launched a dedicated operation, Operation Castle, in 2018 to reinforce our commitment to tackling burglaries in the region which has led to year-on-year reductions in burglaries across Merseyside, sparing many residents the pain of being subjected to a burglary.

“As part of our efforts to bring offenders to justice and prevent further burglaries, offenders have been jailed for more than 500 years in total, and our pursuit of those who violate the privacy of people’s homes in this callous way will continue.

“Key to us putting offenders behind bars is information from our communities so, please, come forward and tell us what you know and we can take action.”
