We have arrested two males following a car theft from a burglary in Aigburth on Sunday 30 January.
Police received a report that, between around 2am and 10.30am, a white Peugeot had been stolen from outside a property on Errol Street.
It was reported that offenders had broken into the property and taken the keys to the vehicle.
CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries were carried out by police.
On Tuesday 1 February, police received reports of the white Peugeot near Fulwood Drive. A number of males were reported to attempt to make off from the scene.
Officers attended and, following a short foot chase, arrested two males, aged 18 and 14, both from Liverpool, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
They were taken into custody and were questioned by police. They have now been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Inspector Dave Uren said: “Thanks to information from the local community and our extensive investigations we have been able to make two arrests in relation to a vehicle theft in the L17 area.
