Officers have arrested a man and a woman following the discovery of suspected drugs and more than £20,000 cash in Rainhill yesterday evening (Thursday 3 February).
At around 3.40pm officers were on patrol when they noticed a Vauxhall Astra travelling along the M62 acting suspiciously.
Following a stop and search of the vehicle officers found suspected cocaine and more than £20,000 in cash.
A 55-year-old man from Southport has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and in possession of criminal property, and a 32-year-old woman from Waterloo were arrested on suspicion and being in possession of a controlled drug and in possession of criminal property.
Both suspects are still in police custody.
