We are appealing for information following an injury shooting in Broadgreen yesterday, Sunday 16 January.
At around 9pm it was reported that a man in his 20s attended the Royal Liverpool University Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest and arms. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, which, following enquires, is confirmed to have taken place on The Green, Broadgreen.
Officers are currently at scenes on The Green, Queen’s Drive, Domville Road and Binns Road while extensive forensic, house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are carried out.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting or with any information is asked to contact police.
Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Wilson from our Firearms Investigation Team said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation into a shooting in Broadgreen yesterday which has left a man seriously injured.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Broadgreen area yesterday evening who witnessed the incident, or saw anything or anyone suspicious to come forward, as any information you have could be vital to our enquiries.
“Similarly if you were driving at the Broadgreen end of Queen’s Drive and have dashcam footage please review it and let us know.
“In recent months we have seen a downturn in shootings on Merseyside. To have such success, it is absolutely vital that we get all information from those communities who feel the impact of gun crime, so we can bring those responsible to justice.
“Speak to us directly or anonymously and we will take swift action to remove dangerous weapons and those who use them from our streets”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook or call 101 with reference 22000037155.
