Officers investigating a serious collision in Liverpool City Centre on Sunday, 30 January, are continuing their appeal for information.
At around 2.55pm we received a report of a collision involving a red Vauxhall and a woman on Brownlow Hill.
The woman in her 60s was taken to hospital via air ambulance. She remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A 31-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both from Liverpool, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
They were questioned by police and have now been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.
Roads Policing Sergeant Amy Murray said: “While we have made two arrests, our investigation into a collision in Liverpool City Centre which left a woman seriously injured is ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
“We’re particularly keen to speak to the drivers of two BMW vehicles who were driving on Brownlow Hill shortly before the collision occurred. Our CCTV enquiries so far show that they may have information that could assist us with our investigation.
“If you were in the Brownlow Hill area and witnessed the collision, saw anything, or captured anything on mobile phone or dashcam, then please come forward. Any information, however small it may seem, could provide vital to our enquiries.
“Whether you come forward to us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, let us know and we will do the rest.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call our Matrix Roads Policing Unit on (0151) 777 5747, email [email protected], or DM @MerPolCC on Twitter quoting reference 22000071976.
