Detectives are appealing for more information after a burglary in Bromborough

We are appealing for information following a high value burglary in Bromborough on Wednesday 8 December between 7pm to 10pm.

At around 11pm occupants of a house returned home to find an offender had forced entry through the rear door.

The offender searched the property and stole a number of items including wedding jewellery, gold ingots and bars, an Olympic coin set, cash and a jade bracelet and necklace.

The offender also made off with identity documents.

Since the incident CCTV and forensic enquiries have been carried out to help identify those responsible and help return the stolen items.

Detectives have issued these images of the jewellery that they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: “To be the victim of burglary, particularly when they are of sentimental value and mean so much to the family is incredibly upsetting and we have been working hard to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

“If you recognise or have recently seen the jewellery pictured then please let us know, as we believe this information could be vital to our ongoing investigation. 

“We are also appealing for anyone who remembers being on Allport Road in Bromborough on Wednesday 8 December between 7pm to 10pm to contact us if they saw anything or anyone suspicious. 

“We understand that it has been several weeks since the incident, but our enquiries are still very much ongoing and it is vital that we find anyone who was driving or walking in the area who may have captured something, either on their mobile phone, or dash cam to get in touch.

“Through Operation Castle Merseyside Police is committed to finding the people responsible for committing crimes such as this and would urge anyone with information to come forward.”
