Officers seized an electric off road bike after it was seen being ridden on a pavement in Huyton by two boys aged six and seven.
The bike was spotted outside Costa Coffee on Liverpool Road at around 4pm yesterday, Thursday 28th January.
The bike was a 1200w capable of doing speeds of up to 30mph and as a result the vehicle was seized for no insurance.
The parents of the children are also being spoken to.
Knowsley Inspector Paul Makin said: "This might seem like a bit of harmless fun but in reality these types of off-road bikes, particularly when ridden in an antisocial manner, are capable of causing injury both to the riders and to other people.
"I would urge parents to think before purchasing such machines. This bike was purchased as a Christmas bike but these are off-road bikes and are not permitted to be ridden on roads and pavements. This bike is certainly not suitable for children of this age."
