We arrested four males and recovered a suspected firearm in Huyton yesterday, Wednesday 5 January.
At around 3.40pm officers executed a warrant at an address on Wimborne Road.
A suspected firearm and ammunition, a quantity of cash, suspected class A drugs. drug paraphernalia and suspected stolen motorbikes were recovered by police.
Four males aged, 17, 27, 19 and 55 , from Huyton and Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of possession of a Section 1 Firearm.
They were taken into custody and will be questioned by police.
Officers remain at the scene this morning (Thursday 6 January) while further enquiries are carried out.
Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Wilson from our Firearms Investigation Team said: “These arrests show that we will not hesitate to take action against those who seek to use dangerous weapons to cause fear and harm in our communities on Merseyside. Our streets are made safer with every weapon we take out of circulation and every arrest we make in relation to firearms.
“We will act on all information provided on gun crime to remove weapons and those who use them from our communities. Please come forward with what you know, directly or anonymously, and we will do the rest.”
