An investigation is underway following reports of a stabbing on Colbert Close in Wirral, this morning, Sunday 30 January.
At around 1.30am today officers were called to a report of a stabbing at an address on Colbert Close in Wirral.
A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his neck where he remains in a stable condition.
A 32-year-old man from Upton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He has been taken to a police station in Merseyside where he is currently in custody and being questioned by detectives.
A cordon is currently in place on Colbert Close as officers continue forensic examinations, CCTV and witness enquiries.
Detective Inspector Paula Furlong said: “Although a man has been arrested in the nearby area we are still in the early stages of our investigation as we try and piece together exactly what happened this morning on Colbert Close.
“We understand this will be a shocking incident for neighbours and residents in the local community. Patrols will remain in the area to gather information and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV or video doorbell footage, to please contact us.”
