We can confirm a murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in Wirral.
Officers were called to a property on Oldfield Way in Heswall at around 8.45pm last night, Monday 24th January.
Officers who attended the scene found a man in his 60s with serious injuries.
The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
A 21 year-old man and a 54 year-old woman were both arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and are both currently in custody.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are currently being carried out.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Nilsen said: “The investigation is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has happened and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Oldfield Way last night who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact to us as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
