We are appealing for information following a serious collision in Liscard last night (Saturday 29 January).
At around 8.15pm officers received a report of a collision involving a blue BMW and a grey Vauxhall Zafira at the junction of Rolleston Drive and Malpas Road.
Emergency services attended and the passenger of the BMW was taken to hospital with serious head injuries where he remains in a critical condition.
The male driver of the BMW was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Two men in the Vauxhall Zafira were also taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not life threatening.
Rolleston Drive and Rosclare Drive were closed during the incident and have since been reopened.
Officers are currently continuing CCTV and witness enquiries and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
Sergeant Simon Duffy of Roads Policing Unit said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation into a road traffic collision that happened last night and has left three men seriously injured in hospital.
“If you witnessed the collision on the junction of Rolleston Drive and Malpas Road or were driving past at the time and have any dashcam or CCTV footage, please review it and get in touch. Any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
