A 45-year-old man who died at a house on New Ferry Road, Wirral, on the evening of Tuesday 11 January has been formally identified as Kenneth Gillam (also known as Kenny).
At around 1.30am emergency services were called to a report that a man had been found unconscious at an address on New Ferry Road.
Paramedics attended but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Gillam’s next of kin have been informed.
A post mortem has taken place and further enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death.
A 59-year-old man from New Ferry arrested on suspicion of murder has now been bailed with conditions.
Officers remain at the scene on New Ferry Road while further enquiries are carried out and we would like to thank the local community for their patience while this incident is dealt with.
