We have discovered 15kg of suspected cannabis inside the wall of a flat in Liverpool

A large amount of suspected cannabis has been seized at a flat in West Derby after a man was arrested in Hampshire on suspicion of drug offences.
At around 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 4 January 2022) officers conducting a search at a flat on West Derby Road found 15kg of suspected cannabis hidden in a false wall, after Hampshire Police had arrested a 65-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of possession with intention to supply of class A drugs.
The man was taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and remains in custody. We are liaising with Hampshire Police, who originally arrested the man, regarding the cannabis discovered at the address in Liverpool.
Chief Inspector Paul Sutcliffe: “This was a fantastic find by our officers after a lengthy and thorough search revealed three large packages of cannabis hidden behind a false wall of a flat that was also disguised with clutter.
"We know the misery drugs can cause on our communities and we will continue our relentless approach to take them off our streets by conducting regular searches and acting on any intelligence we receive.
