We are appealing for information and witnesses following an assault on a homeless man in Liverpool.
We were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service at 2.45pm on Friday 8th July reporting that man in his 30s had been assaulted on Westminster Road in Kirkdale around 40 minutes earlier by three males who also stole his bike.
The man is currently in hospital being treated for broken ribs and internal injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The three males are described as being dressed in dark clothing and wearing face coverings.
An investigation is underway and CCTV and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out locally.
Detective Inspector Nick Suffield said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of what has taken place. The victim remains in hospital two days after the attack and we are determined to find the people responsible and bring them to justice.
“I would ask for anyone who was in the area of Westminster Road on Friday afternoon who saw or heard anything suspicious or can assist our investigation in any way to contact us.
“We are also looking to locate the stolen bike which is described as a turquoise green Apollo mountain bike.”
Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000485010.
