We have arrested a further four people following reports of an assault in Bootle yesterday, Tuesday 12th July.
At around 1.15am officers were called to a report of an assault on Stanley Road. A 55 year-old man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 26 year-old man arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault remains in custody.
An 11 year-old girl and three boys aged 13, 14, and 15 have all now been arrested on suspicion of s18 grievous bodily harm with intent.
They are all currently in custody where they will be questioned by officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dyer said: “We have now made a number of arrests but we are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us.
“If you were driving through Stanley Road early yesterday morning and have dashcam footage of the incident or saw anything suspicious then please let us know. All information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
