We can confirm we are investigating following reports shots were fired towards a house in Knotty Ash last night, Wednesday 13th July.
Officers were contacted at 10.50pm following reports loud bangs had been heard and evidence was found that shots had been fired towards a property on Max Road, causing damage to the front of the property.
There were also reports that two males were seen on a scrambler bike riding off in the direction of Finch Lane shops and enquiries are ongoing to establish if the two are connected.
There are no reports of anyone being injured.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “The investigation is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place.
“We would ask anyone who was in the area of Max Road at around 11pm last night who saw or heard anything or anyone with dash cam or Ring doorbell in the local area to check their cameras to see if they captured anything significant and contact us.
“This is clearly reckless behaviour which will not be tolerated and extensive enquiries are being carried out to find the people responsible and apprehend them.”
