We have charged two men with robbery, theft from a shop and possession of an imitation firearm following an incident in a shop in Kirkby on Friday (8th July).
Officers were called following an incident at around 2.10pm on Friday 8th July at the Poundland store on Newtown Gardens in which a member of staff became involved in an altercation with a customer. There were also further reports of thefts from B&M and Home Bargain stores in the Kirkby area.
John Haase, 66, of Fairhaven, Kirkby, and Jeffrey Hayes, 61, of Pinfold Crescent, Kirkby were arrested and have since been charged.
They have been remanded in custody to appear at the complex case adult remand court tomorrow, Monday 11th July.
