We are appealing for information after a cyclist was found injured in Greasby last week.
At around 9.15pm on Wednesday 8 June we received a report that a man in his 70s had sustained a head injury after falling from his pedal bike on Frankby Road, at the junction of Old Pump Lane, near to the Red Cat Pub.
Paramedics attended and the man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Officers do not believe there to be any third party involvement at this stage and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Police are asking anyone who was on Frankby Road who may have witnessed the incident or with any information to contact police.
Roads Policing Sergeant Simon Duffy said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of an incident where a cyclist was found injured in Greasby last week.
“I would appeal to anyone who was driving along Frankby Road last Wednesday evening who may have dashcam footage to please review it and let us know if you see anything.
“Similarly if you were in the area and saw anything then please come forward. All information you hold could help our enquiries.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 22000396500.
