Four men have been charged following reports of two burglaries in Blundellsands and Gateacre yesterday, Saturday 4 June.
At around 11.40am, police received a report of a burglary on Burbo Bank Road in Blundell Sands.
It was reported that four suspects approached the resident of a property on the road and forced their way into her house before stealing a quantity of jewellery.
Officers received another report of a second burglary at Hillcrest Lodge on Cuckoo Lane at around 12.50pm when four men forced their way into a property. A woman was assaulted in the house and a large quantity of jewellery was also taken.
A Blue Audi S4 was spotted by police in the area and was abandoned after a short pursuit in Hale Village.
John Maloney, aged 34, Paddy Doran, aged 25 and John Toohey, aged 24 of Oil Street, Liverpool along with Philip Purcell, aged 27 of Letterston Road, Rumney, Cardiff have been charged with two counts of robberies, aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving.
They have been remanded into custody and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, Monday 6 June.
