We can confirm that we have this evening, Wednesday 1st June, arrested a 36 year-old Bootle man on suspicion of attempted robbery.
The man has been detained in connection with an attempted robbery at Halifax bank in Bootle Strand shopping centre on Monday 30th May and an attempted robbery at a post office in Park Lane, Netherton, earlier today, Wednesday 1st June.
He has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.
