Restraining Order issued to woman following anti-social behaviour in St Helens

Caitlyn Shephard, aged 18, of Upholland, Lancashire, has been issued with a two year Restraining Order, preventing her from entering St Helens Town Centre. 

The Restraining Order, issued at Merseyside Magistrates Court yesterday, Tuesday 21 June, prevents her from entering the area bounded by Boundary Road, Duke Street, Victoria Square. Corporation Street, Linkway East, Linkway West and Kirkland Street. 

Should she breach the conditions of this order, Shepard will be returned to the courts and may be jailed. 

The Restraining Order is in place until 20 June 2024 and can be reviewed within six months. 

Officers from Merseyside Police submitted the application following multiple reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal offences committed by Shepherd in St Helens Town Centre including arson, criminal damage and possession of imitation firearms. 

Community Policing Inspector Jon Smith said: “Shephard’s actions have blighted St Helen’s Town Centre for more than two years and we welcome the order, which shows our commitment to robustly deal with any offenders who have a negative impact on our community. 

“We hope this result ensures the safety of our residents and anyone who works in St Helens from Shephard’s repeated crimes.

“If you witness or experience any anti-social behaviour then please report it to us. Our action is targeted in those areas where members of the public tell us there are issues, and where we receive reports of anti-social behaviour, we will not hesitate to take action.”
