Two arrested after shots fired in Springvale Close, Kirkby

We have arrested two men after shots were fired at a house in Kirkby on Monday 6 June.
At around 10.50pm, officers were called to Springvale Close where they found damage to the wall and door of a house, consistent with shots being fired.
There were no reports of anyone being injured.
The offenders made off in a vehicle in the direction of Dagnall Road.
Following extensive enquiries, a 20-year-old man from Westvale was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a property yesterday, Thursday 16 June.
He was taken into custody for questioning and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
A 40-year-old man from Westvale was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to a property and possession of a firearm intent to endanger life.
He was taken into custody for questioning and has now been bailed with conditions while further enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “These arrests shows that where people seek to use dangerous weapons to cause fear and harm on our streets we will take action. We remain committed to removing weapons from our communities and bringing those who carry them to justice.
“While we have made two arrests, our investigation into the shooting on Springvale Close continues, and we continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
“We will act on all information provided on gun crime so please come forward with what you know, directly or anonymously, and we will do the rest.”
