We have arrested two men on suspicion of drug offences following the execution of a misuse of drugs act warrant in Kirkby yesterday, Wednesday 8 June, where a large quantity of cannabis and suspected Class A drugs were found.
At around 1.15pm, officers searched an address on Windermere Drive, as part of coordinated and ongoing criminal disruption efforts in the Kirkby area, and found the suspected drugs.
Two men, aged 37 and 27, from Kirkby were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.
Both men were taken into custody for questioning and have been released under investigation.
Inspector Mark Berry said: “Thanks to a thorough search made by our officers yesterday we have made two arrests and removed a large quantity of drugs from circulation that could have caused misery for families and the community.
“No one should profit from such offences while our wider law-abiding communities work hard to earn an honest living. If you know someone in your area involved in suspected drug dealing please let us know so we can take them off our streets.”
We are also able to provide, with partner agencies, help and support for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities who are being exploited and abused by these groups. One of these, Change Grow Live Knowsley, is a drug and alcohol treatment service covering the whole of Knowsley which is dedicated to getting people suffering from drug or alcohol use back on their feet and living a healthy life.
